This full schedule is quite exciting, but our 2019 partners, Victim-Witness Services of Coconino County, are doing something deeply special right now: Raising funds for the Hollie Vargas K9 Advocate Program Memorial Fund (Facebook). From the
It has been two months since we lost our sexual assault advocate, Hollie Vargas. We have spent considerable time deciding how to formally honor Hollie's memory and we have a plan, but we need your help. Hollie and Fanta were quite the pair. I will always remember Hollie’s pride when Fanta would help her child victims in forensic exams or even on the stand, testifying in court. Hollie was proud to be Fanta’s handler and we want to be sure that the program she helped start and build continues on forever. We are raising $90,000 as an endowment with the Arizona Community Foundation to ensure that a canine advocacy program will always be financially supported. If we raise this amount- the canine advocacy program will never be dependent on grants or ongoing donations again. Fanta and those who follow her will always be a part of VWS... guaranteed funding for their care and training forever. This is a HUGE amount for us to raise! We loved Hollie, we miss her and all of us at VWS want to be sure that her impact lives on forever. Please consider donating to this effort. 100% of this funding will go directly to a dedicated endowment fund for the canine advocacy program. We need your help. Fanta needs your help. And I’m willing to bet that Hollie would be incredibly proud to know that her legacy will live on in the form of VWS canine advocates for victims of crime. Thank you, Jen Runge VWS Executive Director
This kind of fundraising establishes an enduring impact in our community. They've set an incredible goal. That is for good reason. If you're eager to support our community partner, then give to the Advocate Program Memorial Fund now or donate generally by clicking here. You are also welcome to give at VaultCon where we'll have a station setup for our guests to contribute.
Thank you for reading and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday, July 13th.
